When it rains..(or leakes and breaks)..it does pour sometimes. I hope the rest of your day fares well.

MY LAST WHINE OF 2008
Again, we got shortchanged! Fifteen posts in WA Part 17! The least you could have done is wait until January 1st to change to Part 18, Anna! Ah, well. 485 just short of a month is a heckuva lot of whining, my whiney friends!

NEW YEAR'S QUOTES

Jay Leno
Now there are more overweight people in America than average-weight people. So overweight people are now average… which means, you have met your New Year's resolution.

James Agate
New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time.

Eric Zorn
Making resolutions is a cleansing ritual of self assessment and repentance that demands personal honesty and, ultimately, reinforces humility. Breaking them is part of the cycle.

Bill Vaughan
An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.

Charles Lamb
New Year's Day is every man's birthday.

Oprah Winfrey
Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.

Mark Twain
New Year's Day… now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.

Anonymous
Many people look forward to the New Year for a new start on old habits.

Joey Adams
May all your troubles last as long as your New Year's resolutions!

Anais Nin
I made no resolutions for the New Year. The habit of making plans, of criticizing, sanctioning and molding my life, is too much of a daily event for me.

Oscar Wilde
Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account.

Robert Paul
I'm a little bit older, a little bit wiser, a little bit rounder, but still none the wiser.

Anonymous
A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.

Not another chance to get tight.

Thanks Jerz...

I kind of like the sound of that one. And Happy New Year to you!

Now Jerz...picture poor Anna sitting here New Year's Eve, counting the Whiner posts so not to short change us.

I'd much rather she call it "close enough" and get us on our way on a stronger thread that won't break at midnight.

Besides, if she didn't do it, I'd have to

My whine...I have all the New Year's snacks and yummies ready, including my favourite smoked oysters and fresh shrimp and my homemade cocktail sauce...and I have a tummy ache and probably won't be eating any of it.

On New Year's Eve, Daniel was in no shape to drive, so he sensibly left his van in the car park and walked home. As he was wobbling along, he was stopped by a policeman. 'What are you doing out here at four o'clock in the morning?' asked the police officer.

'I'm on my way to a lecture,' answered Roger.

'And who on earth, in their right mind, is going to give a lecture at this time on New Year's Eve?' enquired the constable sarcastically.

'My wife,' slurred Daniel grimly.

Well, it is officially 2009, here in Atlanta. Fireworks are going off, like crazy. My poor, cat, Patches, has a whine. She was outside, thought she was being shot at, and came flying to the sliding glass door, wanting in. I have all 3 cats on "house arrest", as they are a bit skittish, right now. The dog is hiding under her blankie.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Amy...I hope your critters have calmed down a bit, it's so scary for them with all that noise. There are fireworks going off here too; I'm sure all the pets on my street are stressed.

I'm tired ...sigh... I think I'll crawl under a blankie now too.

Out with the old and in with the New!!
Much love to all the whiners!!!

My cats are now calm, but wide awake and into exploring my room! I also have my niece and 2 other teenagers in the basement, having a "party"...don't think I'll be getting to sleep any time soon It IS kinda funny watching a fat cat trying to climb into a 2-inch space between closet doors, though.
