My turn.
Hey folks, I need to kick the pot, I want to kick the pot. I've done it in the past but obviously it didn't stick. My biggest fear strangely enough is back pain. When I've quit in the past my lower back hurts, literally one pull from a bong and the pain disappears.
My mind isn't strong right now and I don't think the pot is helping one bit so that's the main driver. I have got to get control of what's going on between my ears.
Wish me luck, I need to get it right this time.
PEACE

I understand about using pot for pain control of chronic pain. It has been 10 days for me. Yes pot helps the pain but drains the bank account and keeps one from passing a drug test when trying to get a job.
I have found this forum very helpful in the past when I got off the prescription pain pills. Yes pot is better then the pain pills but it has caused other problems.
Best wishes

Hi tabata! Welcome. I understand how much of a tool it can be for chronic pain, like back aches, which I also deal with fairly frequently. I have found that sleeping on the floor helps a whole lot on particularly bad days. My first day clean is tomorrow, so I'll be right with ya trying to find alternative therapies best of luck to you!

Thanks Ya'll Sunday was the last day for me, here we are on Thursday and mentally I'm great, sleeping isn't terrible, I'm getting 5-6 hours so no complaints there. Damn back is hurting though, oh well, onward and upward, I'll just deal with it.

Hi D, yes I've been here before, it's been over 8 years off the drink so I know I can do the same with the ganja. I'm on day 7, I've had back pain pretty much all week but when I exercise it does go away. Yesterday I did a great 15 minutes of Core and am very happy to report I woke up with no back pain today.
Peace!
Peace!
Hi Tabata. Great to see you here!
I think the fear of quitting, the thought of quitting is worse than the reality of quitting. It's amazing what tricks our minds play on us.
Glad to hear you are managing your back pain without weed!
Keep posting to stay accountable. It's so easy to slip back, as we all know!

Yesterday was a bit tough but I made it through. Dreams came back last night, and my back is still good to go, zero pain. I plan to do P90X Ab Ripper X every other day since that's what seems to have addressed back pain.
Feeling great.

Congrats on staying strong! Dreaming again is one of the reasons I wont go back to pot, I love dreaming. I am under the conclusion that dreams and our unconscious mind have a lot to tell us if we pay attention to them.
I feel like we are supposed to dream, so there isn't something right if we aren't dreaming!
Have a good day!

Well, I'm doing it, staying clean and I feel great. It'll be a month Sunday and last Saturday I had given up. The back pain wouldn't go away and I had a long car drive in front of me. I reserved myself to just get high to deal with the pain and get through the car ride. I was going to do it, I had given myself the green light, but I didn't! A bigger part of me didn't want to do it so we just jumped in the car and left and I'll be damned if the back pain didn't disappear anyway!
So to wrap up, I feel better than ever, have crazy awesome dreams every night and I'm sleeping well.
To anyone thinking about giving it up: You can do it, believe me, if I can you can, good luck, it's totally worth it.
