PS, I don’t even have words but I did DM you anyway. I am unspeakably sorry and sad for the news, the haste in which you have to decide, the pain the whole thing will cause.

Grateful Mr. PS got his skin checked out. Grateful there are trials to try in the face of inoperability. Grateful PS is sober for this huge challenge.
Grateful for perspective.
Grateful for Introvrtd and others getting good rest.
Grateful our utilities have stayed on (so far) through this winter weather event.
Grateful Free is listening to her body.
Grateful we can all give each other at least virtual hugs.

Dearest PalmerSage - We love you, & I am so upset at hearing the news. I admire you for posting & telling what's going on. Maybe it'll help relieve a little of the anxiety to know we're here for you during this time. Prayers will begin for MrPS.

Grateful for the wonderful GP.

PS, been thinking of and praying for you and Mr. PS.

Grateful for the support of the group.
Grateful for Alpine’s love of snow shoveling. I bet you are a popular lady!
Grateful having my back hurt has the upside of some additional time and energy for organizing/decluttering.
Grateful for the declutter challenge. Today it is shoes. Tomorrow, cleaning supplies.
Grateful I have sober lawyer mom book club today.
Grateful that any power outages were very localized (and even more grateful they weren’t in my neighborhood).
Grateful I have a very long overdue haircut today and I’ll probably go early and take a walk around our beautiful town lake.
Grateful we got through a very difficult meeting with an employee yesterday. The agony of personnel matters makes me glad it’s not usually part of my job.
Grateful I took the time to email our school principal and assistant principal yesterday and tell them I appreciated them and all they are doing to make the school a great place. Facebook is really stressing me out because there are so many parents on there just complaining and criticizing but not actually proposing any solutions. As best I can tell both the school and the district are dealing with staff shortages and how to make that work in a situation where there are no easy choices and every single sector of the economy, especially those that don’t pay super well but depend on an in-person presence, are struggling to hire staff. I guess i need to educate myself more. It just makes me so frustrated with all the keyboard warriors though, not one so far that I’ve seen with a workable solution. Whoa. Sorry. Did i forget I am in the grats thread?! Sheesh.
Grateful for Advil.
Grateful for this day.
Grateful for all of you.

Grateful Riley slept next to me. He still does not seem to be feeling great. He was doing fairly well yesterday morning but then tried to jump up on a chair. I gave him his medication and he is back asleep. He still can walk, he is just wobbly with his back legs and sometimes will knuckle his back paw when goes to the bathroom.
Grateful for another sober day and night
Grateful I got to talk with Mr. Alpine last night. Hard to believe it has now been almost 5 weeks since we have seen each other in person. We are getting there.
Grateful for my shovel time yesterday
Grateful for all of you . You are wonderful!

All, thank you so much for your kind words and support. I'm very teary over here right now! Normally, I like to convey "I got this!" in every area of my life (which definitely contributed to my drinking!) and my H is the exact same (minus the drinking). I'm really working on reaching out more and allowing other people in, to not keep our family isolated in our struggle. My husband is extremely gregarious and social, so I've really been thinking about how to broaden my inner circle to bring some new people in. To that end, I reached out to someone yesterday who gave me such great advice, and put my mind at ease. I'm still deeply worried about how my boys will take the news, especially because my H has serious health anxiety on a good day. Once we settle on the treatment plan (Monday) we'll figure out how to share the news. Thank you again for all of your sweet words, the GP is the absolute BEST. I mean - obviously.

Grateful for coffee.
Grateful for my window seat and beautiful views.
Grateful it's not gray and rainy today.
Grateful for good health insurance and a strong support network.
Grateful we were able to watch the movie Groundhog Day as a family last night.
Grateful to be sober.

Numblady, I hope your back feels better soon. I’m so glad I never have to deal with personnel issues ever again if I don’t want to. Been there done that lol. Also, I try my best to stay far away from FB (fake book. Lol). Sometimes I give in but I always come away somehow feeling bad
Alpine, I’m glad Riley seems to be feeling better and hope that continues
Free, how you continue to ski and live your fun life even in the midst of medical and surgery issues is pretty inspiring
Palmer, thinking of you as you and Mr P plan to share the news with your boys. I am glad you are surrounding yourself with support rather than isolating. I hope Mr P gets the best treatment for his cancer and the anxiety too.
Grateful to have slept very well
Grateful for a good cup of coffee
Grateful for a very nice email for a coworker
Grateful to hear from my oldest girlfriends to plan another get together
Grateful to have time to do what I want today which includes going for a long run, buying some last minute gifts for sonny boy and reading
Grateful it’s been several months since I’ve experienced any serious drama in my life. This is after years of dealing with sonny boys issues, several family deaths, my heavy drinking phase, my dads issues. Grateful for every experience both good and bad because each one has made me more resilient. Grateful for this good time in my life, but also to remember nothing is permanent, to stay neutral and be prepared as I know life can change on a dime. Grateful to read my avi again
Grateful so much for the GP!

Grateful PS that you are finding support here on SR and elsewhere. Support can make all the difference ... doesn't get rid of our difficulties, but at least we don't have to shoulder them alone.
Grateful for a fun time babysitting grandson yesterday. Grateful the kids can grab a short "date night".
Grateful for paper and watercolor paints, and time to fool around with them.
Grateful for birds in my yard and around the bay.
Grateful for healthy food in frig.
Grateful for support group friends, and SR friends.
