Numblady, you’re not alone with the confusion over English and British, and I live here!

Grateful for sobriety. My misconception that I couldn’t live without alcohol were all false.

RZ, so very sorry about the loss of your friend. Meant to say that yesterday!
Grateful Mags is putting me more at ease on my whole English v. British confusion. .
Grateful to become less and less overwrought throughout the day yesterday, like the panic loosened its grip and I felt less responsible for some of the things that are largely outside my control.
Grateful that last night my son came down from his room and was just kind of standing there (it’s rare for him to leave his computer unless forced) and I guess I asked him what he was doing or some such and he said “well, I just got a job.” It was the perfect 12-year-old boy kind of plan. Low on details but full of excitement. I guess one boy is commissioning my son and another to build out a server/world in Minecraft. He was a little unclear on how and for what he would be paid but he was so excited and I could tell a little proud of himself, a little wanting us to see the cool thing he was doing with his friends (sometimes it seems like he spends a fair amount of time being in trouble).
Grateful that my son let not only me but also my daughter have a tour of said world. They only have one thing built
I asked him how big the world was going to be and he told me it’s infinite like I just fell off the turnip truck. He told his friends he was going to give me a tour and I couldn’t really hear the other kid but then my son said, “no she doesn’t play. She’s just very interested in what I’m doing up here.”
Grateful that after a little while he said, “ok tour over, bye.” And I said “I love you too” Kind of sarcastically. But then to my surprise and while on the headset with his buddies he called after me, “I love you too Mom”.
Grateful my daughter is so excited we are going to visit family for 4th of July. She’s creating her own July 4th themed board game, whatever that might entail.
Grateful I realized the coffee pot was askew BEFORE the coffee ended up spilling out while it was brewing.
Grateful for this day and for your fantastic company.

Grateful for coffee, especially enjoyable by a campfire (I really needed it to be sweeter, though - tomorrow - OK back to gratitude).
Grateful my younger son had a good experience.
Grateful to spend time with my older son having takeout on my bed and watching the Matrix.
Grateful it is cloudy and cool today, perfect weather for a nap at some point.
Grateful for a clean house.
Grateful to be making progress on some small projects.
Grateful to be regular exhausted instead of hungover exhausted.
Grateful to be sober, and for SR.

Hevyn, Rusty, so sorry to hear about the passing of your friends.
Grateful to wake up sober.
Grateful that when Henry leapt up from the grass and barked and charged the fence at 10 pm last night, he was only slightly slower than the skunk. Did he get sprayed? Oh yes, he got sprayed: a direct hit, right between the eyes, but thankfully in a tight grouping -- a marksman skunk. Afterwards, he tried to bury his muzzle in the dirt beneath the sand cherry, poor thing. Sprite is usually the best immediate first-aid in these situations (I know from more experience than one man should have), but none was on hand. So, Perrier it was -- three cans poured over his head, because of course Henry deserves only the best. And lo! Behold! In the kitchen cupboard! A bottle of Skunk-Off! Henry would like to say that despite the ignominy of being doused with refreshments and hosed off in the middle of the night, he is grateful that he was able to sleep inside, and not in the garage, which this time of year holds the day's heat like an oven.
Grateful to take him to the river later today to swim and maybe get the last of the skunk off of him, at least until tonight, when the cycle may well repeat itself.

Grateful I caught my Dads financial error when he mistakenly thought a large withdrawal for his assisted living costs was a deposit and wrote a big check to give to a charity. Grateful I could cancel the check in time. My Dad has a huge heart but his assets don’t match it and as it is he will run out of resources and will have to apply for Medicaid.
Grateful for my power of attorney
Grateful for stories of hardship and perseverance, especially those told by older folks
Grateful for a flight change so I’ll get home earlier tomorrow, and a voucher
Grateful Mr F is doing a good job holding down the fort

Mags - Grateful for you, too. I was sure I couldn't get by without it - and that fear kept me drinking. I'm glad we know better.
Numb - I loved that episode with your son - heartwarming for sure.
PalmerSage - I've tried to drink it black - I just can't. MrH has no problem. I'd love to avoid the calories, but ... nope.
Least - Nice that you had a helper. Good to stay friendly when possible.
Deserto - Thank heavens it was a marksman skunky that got dear Henry. Here's hoping the river swim helped, & no repeat tonight!
