Grateful for another day sober.
Got within throwing distance of my usual liquor vendor today. For a fleeting moment bad Carpenter tried to remind nice Carpenter of how easy it would be to go and make a purchase. I think I even tapped my leg to check my pocket for a bank card.
The truth prevailed, interestingly. Turns out that I wasn’t willing to throw away the goodness of today in order to chase some ‘never to be attained’, fleeting, false, utopia.
I knew my night would be 1000% better without.

I have to recognize and be very, very, very thankful for this.

Grateful for a long walk with Billie this afternoon. Grateful for good dog walking weather. Grateful to the powers that be for sending me out to the Humane Society over four years ago. I was looking for a dog and found Billie.

This was her on her very first day in her new home with me. She didn't wear that harness long before she chewed it off. I had to get her a collar for her tags, and bought a comfort wrap harness for walks and car rides. Bless her little doggie heart.

Grateful to be back posting grats. At last! Why do I allow myself to stay away so long?

Grateful for making to-do lists and a weekly plan, just to get a bit more organised.

Grateful for spending time with God.

Grateful for peace and for confidence.

Grateful for sobriety and for grace.

Grateful for cooking as a hobby. Made smoked egg salad, smoked salmon, and we'll have sliced smoked chuck steak for dinner with green beans. Grateful for the new (used to me) smoker. Grateful for home baked sourdough bread too.

Grateful for a sober Saturday night, in fact I'm grateful for a sober every night.
Grateful to get to post tonight, I've been on an unplanned sewing sabbatical, making dolls clothes for my g.daughter. She's 10 and not coping well with the Lockdown at the minute, shes pining for her family and friends. She asked would I make some things for her LOL dolls and though I'm not big on sewing, I couldn't refuse. Anything to put a smile on her lovely face.
Grateful that my g.son is here tonight, I don't always have him on a Saturday night.
Grateful that my wayward son is still being pleasant and civil to me, I'm still keeping my boundaries in place though.
Grateful that I and my family are all well.
Grateful that my daughter and her partner both finished work yesterday for a 2 week vacation, they are both key workers at the hospital and very much need this break.
Grateful to get a stock of bird food for my feeders.
Grateful that my little Lulu cat is in for the night, it's blowing a gale out there.
Grateful to read Tiredcarpenters post and grateful to know that he 'saw the light.'
Grateful that Astro met up with his son, bagels and coffee sounds good.
Grateful to read about Sungpengwn's walks on the beach, I would love to have a beach close to where I live.
Grateful that Citrus will now be on day 12. Great stuff. xx
Grateful that Least shared that lovely pic of Billie. xx
Grateful that Buttermarsh is back and making to do lists, that's what I must do too.
Grateful to read about Astro's delicous food apart from he's made me hungry and its bed time, lol.
Grateful for this thread and all who post on it. xxx

Grateful to get in several walks with Billie today. It wasn't raining and the sun was shining - perfect day for dog walks.

Grateful for the gift of ambition. My sister got me a new vacuum cleaner and now I can't stop cleaning. I'm not going whole hog, just doing a little bit each time I go downstairs. The kitchen is mostly done, will start on the bathroom when the kitchen is finished. I can handle this cause I'm doing it in little bits so it's not so overwhelming. And tho I did it in little bits and pieces, my kitchen looks 100% better than it did this morning.

Grateful for a mostly relaxing long weekend with some light chores to do.

I feel like I don't have much of a purpose today, other than having some housecleaning to do I'm kinda bored. Any ya know I need to be grateful for that. A day to just rest and not rush about to accomplish something. Yeah, I'm grateful for that.

Grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed themselves to live in this free and beautiful country. I pray for peace and respect towards each other no matter what lies ahead.

Astro, I love that you are grateful for feeling a little bored and embracing having nothing to do. I came to the realization recently that for some reason during this pandemic so many are feeling a need to be overly productive. It hasn’t been great for our mental health. It’s ok to slow down (at least what I’m telling myself &#128522
Grateful to see LPG

Grateful to paint some rocks and put them in the garden and fake river
Grateful to sit outside on the patio and listen to old tunes - John Denver and James Taylor

Grateful Mr F is bbQ’g chicken tonight. I hope he does so soon because I’m starving
Grateful for each of you
