Balancing The Scales
Today, I am grateful for surviving three suicide attempts when I was a young man in the thick of things way back in the late 60's/early 70's. If I'd been successful, I would have missed experiences and events in my life that, looking back, I have come to appreciate and thank God for.
Life's not been easy but now, all these years later, the good has managed to balance the scales in my favour.

Today I am grateful for my new job. I had my final interview this week and thought I had completely ruined it. Turns out I didn't because I was offered the job the next day. I start the week after next and I'm very grateful for this opportunity.

I am grateful for whatever it is that has given me the strength to be sober 214 days. This is where I historically falter. In the last 3 years I’ve had 8 months sober & 7 months sober. I think it’s different this time.
