Grateful to "discover" my back deck (after almost 8 years here) as possibly an even better place to sit outside at night than on my front porch swing. I can't see the "outrageous moon" for long because of the trees, but the stars are more visible. Lovely...

And grateful for delicious marked-down scented candles.

Love and hugs,

Grateful that with sobriety I have an open mind enough to try new things. And grateful that I have my wits about me enough to turn down some things which just aren't my cup O tea.

I'm grateful that I made it to bedtime sober, despite the best efforts of someone nasty at work.
I'm grateful for having gotten some work done.
I'm grateful for my class tonight, which was fun and filled three hours no problem.

Grateful that Rusty, EQ and I are amazed by the same moon on different sides of the planet.
Grateful that we are all on this sober journey.

Grateful I got maintenance work done on my car today.
Grateful I could pay for it.
Grateful to learn to prevent problems rather than go from crisis to crisis.
Grateful that learning and seeing the big picture is another wonderful gift from sobriety. As is: no longer hiding my head unde a rock!

Grateful I'm smooth sailing into Training Day #3 feeling capable and competent
Grateful this peppy, cheerful trainer I'm stuck with knows her stuff! I'm in good hands.
Grateful to drag out my old yoga mat and get reacquainted.
Grateful my time spent in meditation is really paying off in practical ways.
Grateful to be grateful with all of you here at SR!

Grateful for last night's Criminal Minds and Garcia's ending quote, something like: It doesn't take strength to hang on, it takes strength to let go. Amen!

And grateful for cheddar & horseradish potato chips.

Grateful to find myself smiling and giggling to myself while walking the dog tonight. I can't remember the last time I did that.

Grateful to get some of the nitty gritty stuff done that I've been blowing off but still needs to be done every once in a while;

Such as cleaning all three of my reading glasses and my driving sunglasses with eye glass cleaner. It's so nice to be able to see clear again!

Digging out all my sweatshirts out of a storage box and putting most of them that I no longer wear away in a garbage bag to be given to Purple Heart.

Putting a sweatshirt in my car like I always do this time of year when it starts to get brrrrr and getting the other ones ready in my bedroom.

Taking the empty propane tank from the grill and putting it in my car to be refilled at Home Depot when I get a chance.

Grateful to be heading off to Chicago tomorrow to see my son play in his college football game on Saturday and to have dinner with him after the game and spend a little time with him.

Grateful to get a hotel room with just me and my wife and to get out of my horizons and to get out of the area. I worked 73 hours last week and have been working 7 days a week the past few months. I'm so excited for this getaway.

I'm grateful that hubby's brakes cost less than expected!
And I'm grateful that that allowed me to sign up for a three day quilt retreat later this month. I've never gone and I need to make friends in the guild--positive, sober friends.
And I'm especially grateful that I finally, in a hard fought decision, decided to say I would go to the retreat. I will be sober from now until then, and I'll be able to have a nice time without drinking.

Grateful that it's Friday, I know I'll make it through today. Anxiety has kept me up at nights this week. Grateful this will pass.
