A day off
A safe home and safe car.
A safe sobriety for today.

a wife who understands my disease and loves me anyway.

a recovery program that makes me admit when I am wrong although not as promptly as I should.

the good sense not to drive onto the icy roads when the temp. is 7F, so I don't go to the AA mtg. today.

books to read and movies to watch and a family to love.

Be safe grtgrandpa and you posted about promptly admitting our wrongs. I tend to spend so much time coming up with the right words and moment to make amends. Then half the time I hear back, "oh, I had forgotten that already"....I was spinning my wheels about something that really had no impact on the other person. Once again, being too hard on myself.

Have a wonderful day reading and watching movies!!! You definitely deserve it. Ipanema

To EternalQ,

Thanks for posting about a safe home and car. While reading this I was inwardly bemoaning that I ran into a post 2 days ago in my nice vehicle and put some scratches on it. I should just be grateful that it is still a safe car....just not quite as pretty...
posts like yours can always do a reset on my emotional sobriety. This is exactly why I say I always hear something I need to hear by SR postings and meetings as well. Thanks, Ipanema

Tiagf...
2 months not eating meat, finally think I've cracked it after years of "trying".
I've always enjoyed it but I just love the wee animals too much! lol

TIAGF.......another beautiful, warmish, sunny day. (Although drought is starting to cross my mind). It's something I cannot control, of course. My healthy, strong body and good music to enjoy. And SR for listening to me carry on for the last few days. Things seem easier this morning.

Thankful for the awesome massage I treated myself to earlier. She worked my spine until the annoying vibrations in the sole of my foot stopped for the first time in over a month. Hurray for that. Hope it lasts. Just one less thing to keep me up at night.

A restful sleep in a warm house with a loving wife who I take for granted more than she should put up with but she still loves me. When I ask her why she married me, she says excitement. Love is blind and that's a good thing.

TIAGF.....well this is going to sound strange......yesterday I was out riding my horse in the woods when a crazy donkey came crashing out of the brush and spooked my horse and me both VERY badly. I was extremely LUCKY not to have been thrown. It was surreal. I mean, what?! I am very, very grateful to be in one piece.

Also grateful to have gone out with some cousins visiting I hadn't seen for some years and had a really good time. We talked about the old days when we were all kids together. Really fun. It's good to have fun again.

Elseware I'm so glad you're alright!

My vacuum cleaner
My washer and dryer
My dishwasher
My garbage disposal.
Where I lived before my vacuum, and washer and dryer, were not that safe to use.
And I didn't have a dishwasher or garbage disposal before.
Grateful these fortunate conveniences are helping me to get my life together.

TIAGF... My strong, healthy body that I didn't appreciate and abused for way too long. I'm so grateful to have it and that it has forgiven me and I've become whole again.
