Today I Am Grateful For... Part 10
Today i am Grateful for Many things:
still having a job (many don't)
Healthy pets
a warm home (it's snowing again)
bills are paid today
enough food to eat/stuff to drink
and of course 6 years and 10 months clean and sober!

Today, I'm thankful that (with a casual, pre-holiday day at work), I slid into a pair of jeans from which I've been "estranged" for several years. Was scared to give those puppies a try, but on me they are! Whoo-hah!
good nights sleep, happy thanksgiving, eating at AA speakers mtg. at 6 am., family today and too much food(no alcohol), hugs, kisses, love, and a walk in the park on this sunny day. It does not get any better than this.
Uh.... Went to work last night, a little sick, just got home, powers out, no bath, no CPAP machine, family's in s hurry to go cook while I have to try to sleep, to go in for night 2of4. Have a blessed life, pl that love me, but I'm the absolute worst whiner. On a holiday of all days. Day 2 sober and things aren't looking so bright. May have to lay out on a holiday. That's probably not smart, I sure don't sound thankful. Think I'll just shut up now. Hope ppls day goes better than mines starting.

When they talked about the freeze warning in the city for the homeless I didn't have to wonder if my daughter was among the freezing on the street like I had to wonder last year. She has been in rehab for six months and she called me this morning to say thanks and she loves me. I am really grateful that she is alive....

My thanksgiving began with an eating AA mtg. at 6 am where my wife and I enjoyed the hugs and kisses of our AA family.
Followed later in the day by children and grandchildren at our table piled high with food. The love we felt for one another was just too sweet to describe.
Recovery from our disease is such a miracle that I keep saying thank You God, Thank You God, Thank You God.
Today I am thankful for my husband who has supported me unconditionally; for my parents who have asked for time away for me for the hurt I have inflicted on them through my addiction, and the fact that I understand and am not hurt by this; for two days sober; and especially thankful to be here in this forum with so many others all over the world who know what I am going through...and thankful for the stories and experiences you all are taking the time to share. And thankful to each and every one of you for your sobriety!
