Time.
In the midst of drinking, minutes, hours, days and weeks become one jumbled mess of memory loss, unknown bruises, physical sickness, finances depleted, regret, angst and worry.
In the midst of recovery and sobriety, time is helpful, a useful tool, joyful, anticipated and celebrated in minutes, day, week, months and so-on.
Time.

grateful for a good night's sleep and awoke clean and sober. I am dressed and pressed and I am off to the mall to walk with the old folks. Still here alive and above ground, and able to take nourishment to support my trudging.

I'm grateful for every day that i have the opportunity to live and thrive. I'm grateful for the friends and family who whether knowingly or not, helped me on my journey. And I'm grateful for the opportunity to help others find their own way.
