Always Grateful-Part 14
Always grateful for April.
It has always seemed like a magical month to me. Everything starts to bloom, the sun comes out, people come out to play, the world seems new again. I still remember April being special when I was a kid because it was my best friend's birthday month (amazing how I still remember that kind of stuff).
Wecome, April!

Always grateful for SR and my SR friends. I'm a year and a few days sober now, never thought that was possible. Grateful for divine intervention. Grateful for the grat threads... You guys never forced me to be accountable but I felt a huge accountability as I love you guys and value your friendships. You are also great role models. You guys are my "what are you going to do differently this time Reub?".
I still have a lot I need to work on (baby steps) but that first baby step was not to drink (again) that first night. This time I just happened to do that for over 365 days. It wasn't easy, but that #$%@ phrase "one day at a time" made it A LOT easier for me. I just needed to have a plan in place for the evening so that I wouldn't drink. Surfing SR at night was a huge help.
Still feeling like an amateur in recovery, but I love how I can incorporate recovery to my entire world, it gives me a new perspective. Love how life is so much less dramatic now that I'm a wino in recovery. Boring.is.good. In fact, what used to be "boring" is now what I look forward to.
Anyhow, just wanted to say thank you to everyone.
