I'm grateful for being alert

Needed to count my blessings today, just a reminder to myself really:

Alert:
  • Last week I noticed the baby birds had fallen out of their nest and I didn't run over them. 2 of the 3 of them are flying today because I was not in a self centered fog.
  • I have the money to buy hubby a new work car today
  • I payed my bills before getting shut-off notices
  • I'm not hidden in my room so I've got a great tan

Now, THAT is a great post!

Who would have ever thought that we'd be happy about paying bills on time Heck, I even paid my car payment EARLY!

The more I look at my life, the more I have to be grateful for.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Funny how life has a way of showing us what it's all about. My addiction has done one thing positive in my life and that is "It's simple every day things that make life good."
Before my addiction I had come to a point in life that I was bored with everything, dreaded mowing the yard, cleaning the tub, moping...................
Cocaine took all that away. Then one day I looked around my life and it was a disaster. I wanted to fix it but instead I got high. As my coke monster got bigger so did the mess around me
I never want to forget how much I like having a clean home and bills in check again.

You are so right. I think my addiction has made me SO much more aware of the good things in life. Even though there are still some bad things, I now look at them as a challenge.

Awwww, that exchange made me smile! My AH has recently been shooting/smoking crack/cocaine and I know from following you two, that was your DOC too so....I am thrilled to see such a postive exchange of gratitude because there IS hope and there IS light and there IS recovery from this monster drug.

Thank you for the thread Can You Hear Me and Amy, thank you for your gratitude too!

:d

I sat down here this morning thinking ok what else do I have to be grateful for?
Sounds silly, but I'm grateful I learned it was ok to love myself.

It's much easier to love your life when you respect and love the person that controls it. ME!
