First, I would like to say that the support here is amazing. Your stories and advice has helped me make necessary decisions to change my situation. Thank you
I have posted before about my AH and his addition to pain meds and possibly herion. I left him, and he is now in rehab. While trying to find information about how much he damaged me financially, I uncovered a secret p.o. Box. I have checked out his finances and every bill that he has matches what comes to the house. What could he have been using this for? I am afraid he opened up credit in my four-year-old's name. I tried to locate a credit report, but I have had to jump through several hoops to get it. Is it even possible to open credit with an ss of someone that young? Has anyone out there dealt with this before? If so, what was being sent there? Any insight would be helpful

If not a credit card which is what they are often used for then drugs through the mail. They can be ordered from overseas and South America. They take longer to get and are usually some generic knock offs (i.e. generic hydrocodone / oxycodone) and cost an arm and a leg, but lots of addicts do it. There are also shady people in the USA that will send stuff through the mail. You can find their email or text numbers on message boards and normally just rip you off, but some are legit (and Illegal of course). I would still lean towards some type of credit card, but you just never know. Addicts are full of ideas to lie, cheat, and steal their way to get drugs.

Someone I knew--very upstanding in the community--had an emotional affair with an individual living in a different state, and opened a secret P.O. box in a grocery store post office, specifically to receive love letters.
But I think drugs by mail are more probable.
With addicts, the secrets just keep on revealing themselves.

I think Marcus' s insights are so much more reliable than mine.
I only know of people using them for delivery of porn or for fake IDs.
Whatever it is it's something he kept from you so it's probably drug related.
Perhaps you can do a search report under your child's name as well as your own...
Do what you can to protect yourself now, but try not to panic.
An identity theft credit agency may be able to help you also.
