So tired-First Post
After another sleepless night, thanks to AH, watching to make sure that he does not burn down the house or stop breathing. Hoping and praying that he will reach his bottom. Feeling hopeless that he won't. We have struggled on and off with his addiction for close to 25 years.
Went through treatment 12 years ago.....best 9 months of our marriage. I think back to that time for strength.
Not so patiently waiting!!

Your post breaks my heart. No sorry for your struggles for so long. I'm sure you are tired after 25 years. I don't know how you have hung on. Bless your sweet heart. I wish I had some great advice but I don't. So I will just say hello, and you are in my thoughts.
Welcome. I hope you find comfort on here. I have to say, as long as you make sure every thing is ok, he never has to. I'm not saying I want him to burn your house down but at some point a grown man has to start accepting responsibility for himself and you have to let him.
Three things that helped me:
I had to start accepting my reality for what it is and not for what it was. Living in the past became so unhealthy for me and kept me stuck.
I had to change my thinking and stop blaming my husband for the choices I made.
I also had to learn to start taking care of me and stop enabling him. That was the confusing part for me......being supportive vs enabling.
ETA - welcome to Sr. As always I am sorry for what brings you here.
