OT - making a painful choice today

Dearest LMN, You are a good Mom to your babies. Lady Di (bugger) never knew anything in her lifetime except love, trust and happiness. You gave her to God, and I firmly believe all Animals are here to be our partners in spirit. Bug is happy and running in the fields and feeling no PAIN.

My eldest had renal failure. I had to give him an IV drip (needle uner his skin)3 times a day for 4 weeks then eventually down to once a day. My vet said he had never seen a dogs blood work come back with such improvement. He said only love could make that kind of difference. I prolonged his life but not really the quality. I just couldn't let go. I didn't want to make the same mistake with Bug and my vet agreed.
I just miss her so much. It's like losing the last attachment to my Mom. But my mother had been so sick for so long with very little quality of life, I couln't do that to Bugger too. I know my Mother is happy to have her back with her and I am glad they are reunited.
Anyway......Thank you and have a wonderful New Year filled with Hope, peace, joy and acceptance!!

LMN, fellow dog lover here (hence my avatar), I am so sorry for your loss of your little friend.
I can imagine your pain and send many hugs to you.
I know the day will come when my beloved boston terrier will also have to leave for heaven (she just turned 10 like your pup did). I hope for a few more years with her, but it will be much too soon no matter how long she lives. Pets are a true gift from God. I remember when I first brought Dominoe into my home that I sat down with her, tiny and cute as a button, and prayed that God would help me be the best "mommy" to her I could be.
I hope you are feeling better today, at peace, enjoying the memory of your dog. Our pets come and go so quickly in our lives, but our lives have so much more meaning because of them.
