Kickboxing really helps

Hello all, I had an amazing experience today in a new class at the gym. It is called Body Combat. During the class, you do boxing, tai chi, karate, and many other combat moves. During the class, I envisioned my enemy: Heroin. I put every ounce of anger and frustration and fear I had bottled up into the kicks, punches, grunts, screams and running.
I left the class as if I had come from a counseling session. During the class I gave JJ back to God and I took on the enemy. I vowed to overcome its power on my child and I vowed it would never hurt me.

The warrior in me came alive and I felt so good in hurting my enemy.

I know JJ needs to fight for his life, and this workout helped me fight for mine.
I highly recommend this class or others like it for everyone feeling powerless over the addiction.

It is my new favorite Wednesday workout
Good night all
TT

I'd like to try that! Sounds like a great way to get those negatives feelings out in a really positive way.

I am of the age where kickboxing might kick back, lol, but I am cheering you on and am so glad this is helping. Sometimes we just need to "get it out" and I can't think of a better way.

Thank you for sharing this, you've inspired me to at least mentally kick back when the "what if's" and "coulda, shoulda, woulda's" come to visit.

Hugs

I tried boxing last week and it was awesome. I have to admit, I wasn't picturing cocaine when I threw my punches...I was picturing my AH. But I like your idea better. Exercise is a great way to let out stress!

I think you meant a vow to "overcome its power on me".

JJ has to do his own kick.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I am intrigued but don't think I could handle that level of activity, lol.

I find roughhousing with my dog helps me get out a lot of pent up energy and I feel like a kid again ... well, probably more like an old tomboy. He makes me laugh.

the class is all to music and you can pick high or low impact. Great endorphin rush
