GF - thanks for your shares. it makes it so scarily clear that we obsess over our partners, like addicts obsess over their doc. obsessing over anything is horrendous and hard to get out of. i hope that you can detach soon and have the peace that you deserve. x

I'm glad that you are working your way through this. I do believe that our Higher Power places people (and events) in our path for a reason. The woman that you had a great talk with was placed there to help you and you took what you needed from the conversation.
Therapy works for some, AA/NA works for some, some are able to figure things out by themselves, and others never figure anything out. And some of us, like me, need to work it from several angels.
It's all a process of self examination and caring enough about ourselves to do it. You're doing just that. With the loss of someone dear to you, there is grieving thrown in there too, it takes time.
Be kind and gentle with yourself.
