Lunaa said it! They are not weak and helpless. You don't do what they do for as long as they do without a certain tenacity. Think about the level of control it takes to try to make it day to day as an addict. No job, no money, no home yet they still go on. I fall apart if I don't have money for gas, miss a days work or if I lost my keys one afternoon. But they LIVE like this.

Also, you seem to have a controlling side you Steve. That troubles me. Do you always want this much control over women in your relationships? Something to think about. What I mean is, you aren't helping her and if this is about your love and wanting her to get well, you will LET HER GO. But you are entering obsessive man territory and that is what I find a bit disturbing.
