Daughter's trip
Daughter's trip
Well it seems that the weather down south and out east is not cooperating. She flew out of Detroit early this morning, was supposed to go to Atlanta but instead flew into JFK where they are expecting a major winter storm. So they sit at JFK awaiting a 12:30 flight to Miami. She was starting to freak out until I reminded her that she is still on vacation and gets to see New York (if only from the airport) So she called the hotel and let them know what is up. And now she is just waiting to see if her flight gets cancelled. She did take out trip insurance so hopefully if she does not get to Miami in the next couple of days, she will get some of the trip reimbursed. So if you could say a little prayer that she gets there safe and sound, I would appreciate it. Hugs, Marle
The snow isn't going to be too bad until later tonight...but it is coming up the coast. I pray she gets to Miami. What a bummer...but she's smart for taking the insurance. Praying she gets to go on vacation and gets there safely.:praying
As a Canadian who would sell her soul right now to escape another day of winter...I feel her pain and am saying "southern prayers" for her.
I have a feeling she'll make it, and appreciate the warm days even more for having struggled to get there.
Hugs

Tell her to give me a call if she gets stranded. I've got a 4 wheeler and it's not snowing yet Seriously, she should be okay...probably getting out of Dodge (aka NYC) just in time. The little storm last night is done and the big one isn't due for another 6 hours. Hope she has a blast and I'll send an extra prayer for a well deserved vacation!

Sending prayers her way. I'm in Memphis and got 8" of snow. Flights out of here have been cancelled also.
Glad she got the insurance also. Hopefully she will get to Miami and enjoy the rest of her vacation!!

I'm glad she's on her way. We have snow in Atlanta, but it isn't sticking to anything, so even though it isn't sticking to anything, she might have gotten delayed, here, too...the white stuff freaks out us southerners We're just not USED to it!!!
Saying prayers she has a safe trip and has a good time!
Hugs and prayers!

Its starting to stick now. My daughter is running around the house screaming and the poor furbabies cannot figure out what the heck this stuff is - they both are staring out the window in amazement.
She said it was hot and sticky there when they landed. While they were eating dinner at an outdoor cafe the winds started to blow. But she said her room was wonderful, the hotel wonderful and she doesn't care what the temperature is because there are palm trees and no snow. Hugs, Marle

I had to smile when I read this, the miracles of life.......
It must on some level feel awfully good to be worried about
her "being on vacation" as opposed to where she was
not that long ago. Must make you awfully proud of your girl.
Prayers going out for them.

Moose, Megan had her suntan lotion (the expensive one) in her carry-on. Her bags were already on the plane. They told her that she could not carry on the lotion and so she could throw it away or pay $125 to add on another bag. She threw it away and bought baby oil at the CVS down there. Kinda of funny but I am sure that she will buy more when she gets home. Only $40 on Amazon. Hugs, Marle

Marle, I'm so glad she got there without incident. A little delay, well, lets just say that's not such a big deal. I think your daughters trip is wonderful, and a good gift of recovery.
You guys in Atlanta, heck I was stuck in a delay there two years ago, because of a thunderstorm. Geez, we were all tired & hungry and stuck in a room with no food or anything else. We weren't allowed to go into the airport because our flight was international, they needed to make sure we had NO drugs in our suitcases. Now going was another story, as my brother lives in Atlanta, I got to visit with him til our plane took off.
Sure wish I was somewhere warm right now.
