Yup, I was so focused on looking at the white shirts that my brain discounted anything dark. Didn't see him until I looked at it again after posting my answer. I bet I would have noticed him if he was a white gorilla

I found this on some site.
I guess there is more research done on this, lol, of course...
I haven't found that file yet though...

How many did you get? 10-15?
Did you see anything else?
Whenever your eyes are open, all the information in the image that is projected onto your retina is available to your brain. But the amount of information is just too great, so you choose to focus your attention on certain things. For example if you look out your window for five minutes, then look away, you can probably tell if there are a lot of people or cars outside. You have noticed if itīs raining and you can tell the color of the house across the street. What you canīt say is how many tiles are on the roof of that building, or how many branches are on the big tree in your neighborīs garden. Your brain has chosen to ignore that information, even though it was available to you.
Very few people actually see the gorilla, partly because you are asked to watch the people in white, but mostly because you are too busy focusing on the ball. Now you can ask yourself how much else are you missing every day?

And when we watched it, we watched it on a very large screen and still most people did not see him.
At least on that post people were much closer together on the ball count.
When I went the numbers were insane like 10-25...
We watched it twice also. :bounce

Cool. I did not see the gorilla. But I do remember being really frustrated at one point when the black players were blocking my view.
There's another one of these with a deck of cards and they turn the cards over and you name them. But the 3 of clubs is red and the 10 of hearts is black. I literally could not see the miscolored cards until I was told what was different. Fascinating and more than a little frightening.
And another one.....in insurance records of crashes there were a disproportionate number of private aircraft that made safe emergency landings on highways and then after rolling to a stop were hit by a car. Upon interviewing the drivers they discovered that the reason the drivers hit the airplane was that they never saw it.

I saw that card thing, different but similiar, I forgot already what it was, but it's what made me think of this. I tried to find this before to post it but it was hard to find.
When I was looking for this I found an experiment page, with different things,
Oh here it is..
djs_lab demos
Interesting..
I would like to know if the results were ever divided into men/women results?
Is here any difference in the sexes power of observation?
(questions, I'm always FULL of questions...no answers...just questions...)

I'll have to try and find the research that was written on this.
There is something, somewhere.
Good eye, Moose.
So far I only know of three people here who have seen him.
Or if you include Best, four. But I'm not sure if he counts. :rof (J/K)
but wait, the directions said just to count the times the white shirts pass the ball between them....didn't say nothing about no dang gorilla! i take this test stuff very seriously ya know....and i did get the pass count correct....so what do i get? huh? where's my prize?
So take it you didn't see the Gorilla running into the middle of the game pounding his chest, and then running out. :rof
LOL, it's okay.. me either. and I saw it on a HUGE SCREEN.
TWICE... TWO TIMES THAT IS........
And the funny thing about it, they had gorilla's all over the walls and stuff, but we had no idea why until after..
Was your count right Happy?
Good eye Girl! 8
I do have to say when they did it to us, they told us to 'act' like and tell our mind, that getting the # right was the most important thing in the world, like if we did not get the # right we may die or something drastic like that. So we were pretty focused on just getting the number. Not that,, that matters. Because I still learned a lot..
OK, DoneWithIt
You're not playing fair! I'm not going to play with you anymore! You said only to look at the white t-shirts. What Gorilla, I thought that was the referee!
Besides, I was the only one that saw them pass the ball 12 times.
Gorilla??
Hugs, Devastated
