OT-debit transaction-anyone have this happen?

For some reason, I have to write a check at our Super K-Mart. It doesn't matter how much money I have in the bank, my Visa debit card just won't work there. It's happened at other stores, but then when I process it as "credit" it goes through, but not Super K-Mart. GRRRRR, You got me started.
