I'm actually planning on quitting... set a quit date for the 15th. When I started they were $4.90 a pack... now... OUCH!
Ok this just isn't fair. You guys pay $5- $7 for a pack of smokes!!! Here they are $11 for a 25 pack. I think we need to move so hubby and I can have cheaper smokes...
Milk is anywhere from $3.95 - $5.00 for a four litre jug.
and gas at our local out in the sticks store is $0.92/litre. I noticed its $1.00/litre in town now.

This thread is crackin' me up, you guys.
I can't stop laughin'.
First, here's my take on livin' in BFE, which, btw, Teke, is Egypt. lol
My as is living in BFE right now. I couldn't be happier for him.
As far as the price of stuff...don't get me started.
Has anyone noticed that things are getting smaller and smaller, but
still cost the friggin' same?
Anyway, milk here is $2.99, gas is $2.41, (today) and because I'm in the
friggin' tabacco state, lol, I pay $3.07 for a pack o' marlboro's. Ironic, huh?
They actually give you a free carton when you hit puberty here.
Not really.
I'm serious about things getting smaller, though. You know those bite size candy bars that are 10 for 1.00 or somethin'? those things look like tootsie rolls now. No kidding! Toostie rolls.
Okay, I'm finished venting.
Carry on...
oh my goodness, when i started smoking, they were only .75 cent a pack, yall know i'm must have been around for the invention and i know its time for me to stop.
Anvil, The sad thing is... my entire job is math and I'm horrible at it!
Teke (don't hit me!!!please!!) My grandpa told me that when he started smoking they were 50-75 cents a pack here. Oh and the minimum wage in Alberta is $7.00/hour. I think I'm moving to the US....

i used to smoke benson hedges, quit for 9mos and relapsed then i thought i'd switch cigs, and i'm still battling tobacco. that goes to show that swapping one cig for another, don't work either.
One pack of cigs here, well almost $7 a pack. Five mins away, across the bridge, one pack of cigs is about $4. When I first started smoking, they were about $.50 a pack. Geez, I've smoked too long!
Well, I just got in from feeding the cows out in BFE, sold my first born to buy a pack of cigs - but traded them to CBS for summa those nice Tylenol3s cause the dude at the Chevron says he can get me some goood gas for a very reduced price but I told him not unless he threw in a liter of milk.
He told me that only Pepsi is sold in liters.
Dang it. I was SO close to a real primo deal, too.

Long Island, New York.......
Milk is 3.50 for a gallon.
Gas is 2.70(the lowest ones in the area) and goes up, up, up, up.
Ciagarettes are between 4 and 5 bucks. But.... if you cross over the city line they go up to 7 and up, up, up, up.
You can get all of your groceries delivered here.... if you don't mind paying an arm and a leg!
Okay, now how much to houses cost where you live?????? I'm sooo much more interested in this! LOL! Where we live now the lowest you can buy a house for is $400,000 (for an itsy bitsy teeny weeny little house) and they go up to over a million.

well supposedly Houston has the lowest cost of living in the U.S. You can still get a modest 4-bedroom newly built house for $200,000 --- out in BFE. But in the city (where I live) they go on up into the millions. Not ours, though. My great grandparents built the house I live in. Wooden, strong and sturdy... Its not worth much, but its paid for, however taxes are a kick in the arse. The payoff for me is that I can drive to North, South, East and West BFE and get there in 30 minutes with hardly any traffic cos I'm usually going against it. :P
