curious-OT

There seems to be a large difference in expenses from one place to another. Ive pretty much always lived here, so Im curious.

The cost of a gallon of milk. Here at most grocery stores its $3.55, although I just saw it a CVS pharamacy for $3.05. How much is a gallon of milk where you are?

What about a gallon of gas? Here it is $2.61 for unleaded.

Pacific Northwest (rural area)

Milk - 2.99/gal
Gas - 2.76/gal

Who knew BFE would be so expensive? (and for those wondering, the acronym is a not nice one used by rednecks to describe far, far out in the desert away from civilsation)

Ok I hate to say it I really can't remember how much milk cost.... I believe it's like 4 something for a gallon.

Now for a pack of cigarettes if you buy it legally here in nyc it could go for anything from $6.25 to about $ 7. But you could get it illegally for about $4 to $5 a pack.

Milk $2.69/gal
Gas $2.33/gal

Sis, I remember a long time ago when I was laying out a really big tradeshow floor and had to assign a booth WAY out there, I said I was putting that exhibitor in BFE. I actually had an employee come to me about 30 min later and say she'd looked all over the floorplan but couldn't find where BFE was. I laughed til I cried...

I just sort of presumed everyone knew that expression. ... but nope!

I think I saw it for $4.99 but Ill ahve to double check.

Anvil, a milk man, I thought those were from the days of before color television. The only thing delivered around here is pizza, and those expensive Omaha Steaks.

cind - that's part of why i LOVE having milk delivery!!! it feels so earthy and quaint...you can get produce delivered too, but that is outrageously expensive.
now , what the heck does "egypt" mean and how come i don't get to have a milk truck.

Teke,

Trust me. Way out in BF Egypt there ARE no milk trucks. It's a fair piece past the middle of freakin nowhere...

A gallon of milk... store brand $2.50 (on sale) reg. price $3.50+
Gallon of Gas... At Citgo w/cash card... $2.29 w/out cash card $2.40

You would think gas would be cheaper being that tha darn stuff is made just down the freakin' street...

Ok this just isn't fair. You guys pay $5- $7 for a pack of smokes!!! Here they are $11 for a 25 pack. I think we need to move so hubby and I can have cheaper smokes...
Milk is anywhere from $3.95 - $5.00 for a four litre jug.
and gas at our local out in the sticks store is $0.92/litre. I noticed its $1.00/litre in town now.

oh and cigs... $4-5 a pack and about $36.99 a carton

I don't smoke but my ABF does... I usually make sure to get the carton cos its "cheaper" and it keeps him from using the excuse to run out for a pack of cigs... (shhh... me so codie).
