I love therapy!
Well, I guess the title says it all -- I love therapy! I had my 3rd appointment Tuesday, and I can't wait to go back a week from today. My therapist is great...he's really smart and he's really challenging me already. This is totally different from my previous experience with counseling. The other one was an LCD, and he's a PHD...maybe that's the difference. It doesn't matter, the point is that I'm already feeling more positive about things. He nailed one of my weak personality traits that is definitely affecting this marriage. Instead of working through problems, in almost every aspect in my life, I work around problems. I never face them head on. I either hide from them until they go away or else I get to the absolute point that I cannot avoid them anymore before I do something about them. Then we got into where I want to be in 20 years. My "assignment" for Thursday is to answer this question, "What do you need to do to take control of your life?"
Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience. I really do love therapy! I am loving the mental challenge!!!

I'm glad you found a good one.
I've had some really good therapists, and some really poor ones, over the years.
The very best therapist I ever had was an addictions counsellor I saw last year for a few months. Addictions counsellors work with addicts and their family members. She was amazing and incredibly helpful.
Sometimes you have to "shop around" for therapists. Some are better than others...
