Alcohol and the Adolescent brain.
Perhaps a source of understanding for parents. This is a long, fully referenced and well written explaination of how alcohol interacts with those going through adolescence.

The authors CV is available and to my mind is downright impressive!! I've often heard people give the advice 'Learn about the disease'. It seems the 'disease' has specific anotomical impacts on young brains and may need to be understood in diffrent terms.
The purpose of this summary is to briefly discuss recent findings regarding adolescent substance use, adolescent brain development, and the impact of alcohol on adolescent behavior and brain function.
