'twas the night of...

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, But I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned - The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation With all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees....
Happy eating to all - Pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty, May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy Have nary a lump,
May your yams be delicious May your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner Stay off of your thighs.

from me to you...."Happy Thanksgiving !" :e16m

It reminds me of my christmas sandwhiches - I always loved playing with food!!

Christmas sandwhich:

You need one tub (microwavable) turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, bread sauce (little bit) and PEAS!! Stir it up, heat it, then bung it in a sandwhich!! I used to make them when we first had a microwave, I think I was about 11. (It looks gross but tastes... yummmmmmmmy!!).

funny story about peas. when i was a kid we would sit at the dinner table and at the end of the table on the floor was a cold air return (a grate in the floor for air circulation). i used to take my peas and drop them down the grate. imagine my parents surprise when they went to vacuum the dust and found "petrified peas" instead! bet they didn't know they would be doing an archeological dig in their own house! LOL

Eq...I do creamed peas with pearl onions. Do you think that would work. I'm willing to give it a try.
