If you could.......
I think I would have told me to cherish who I am and not to give up the core of myself for anyone.
Not sure if I'd have listened, but I reckon it would have stayed with me to be recalled at a later date.

I would have told myself to move far far away from family and anyone I knew when I was 18 so that I could learn to lean on others instead of being the pillar that everyone leaned on. I think this may have helped me value my own strength more.
I would have also explained the importance of credit and savings to my 16 year old butt. Most everything in life is easier with good credit and some money saved.
Now Minnie,
Are you going to try the ole. "Why cant we all take that advice now thing?"

I was pretty good at 16. I could have used a LOT of advice at 18 - 21...
- Stop partying and start going to class.
- Yes, yes, a 2.2 GPA (gasp...I know!!!) might graduate you, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least halfway try [I like never went to class or studied]
- Try to care a little about your education.
And my new personal favorite (saw it somewhere, but don't remember where for credit...)
- Don't date anyone you wouldn't marry. You just might fall in love.

Hey Jazz...my generation. Loved Paige and Hendrix.
Ditto on this one.
I would have told my grandparents...no, I'm not going to catholic business school but to public school because I want to go to college to be a child psychologist.
And...to be asked to this question when I was 35 years old when husband was deep in his cups. My advice to myself would have been to get with a program and stick with it come hell or high water or get the hell out.
But 16...I was having too much fun and discovered the word "defiant". Was really loving life then and had no idea how screwed up my life really was.

I'd rather get advice now from 16-year-old me. I had my head screwed on a lot tighter at 16 than I do at 30. 16-year-old me would be appalled at the crap I have allowed myself to settle for and take.
