Wow... this one is easy.

When I look at my daughter who happens to be 16... I can see who I should/could have been.

I tell her all the time....

Remember this is just a small part of the world, go out and explore your options.

Get the foundation work out of the way (education, being a kid) before you try to build a house on it.

BREAK!!!! (she is learning to drive)

Take the time to enjoy every stage in life, its part of building the foundation... (dont be in a hurry to grow up)

When things feel out of control take the time to go back to the basics.... (God, Family)

BREAK!!!

Dont start with the problem. Discover what you want and work your way backwards, finding the solutions... then you wont be disapointed.

Dont try to find the "box" it never fits right anyway.

Can I change my answer?

I would have given myself a bad picker ping pong paddle...
whack
"stay away from that one"
whack
"stay away from that one"

Other than that, I would not have changed a thing! What a blast I had

I have a 16 year old Girl:

I have told her this one since she was two.

College is not an option, it is a given, like highschool.

You can start having a family at 30 or even a little older if you wish. But go to college first, party, (I have also explained my partying and that doesnt consist of getting wasted) have fun, go out, date, travel, have fun, find out who you are, before you settled down. Above all like yourself and have respect for yourself.

By the time you are 30, and have finished college, you can get a good job, making good money to support yourself and give yourself that independence.

or dont go to college and work at Burger King your whole life.

She says to me mom not the flippin burgers at BK again., and then she finishes my story. with a I Know, I know. lol I just hope she stays focused on herself and listens, she will be 17 next June and I couldnt be luckier.

I wish someone would have told me that.

You sound like me talking to my fifteen year old... I love it!

I would tell my sixteen year old self--you CANNOT fix them, start working on you. You are strong, you are smart, you CAN be anything you want to be...so GO DO IT!

It would have been nice to know that at 16, I didn't know nearly as much as I thought. At least now (at 31) I recognize that I don't know everything!

Seeking G*d is not a waste of time. Giving in to materialism, status, and comfort is the waste. Never stop seeking. The rewards a much greater than most people know.

Don't be in such a hurry to get out of school, because once you're done, you have to work full time to support yourself.

Don't take everything so seriously. Sure you need to work hard, but don't forget to enjoy yourself. I don't recall the major achievements (good grades, tests I aced, races I won) nearly as easily as I can relive the fun memories, laughing with my friends/family.

Life is about balance. All things in moderation.
