Sorry for taking over the whole damn place....

... BUT I have to share this NOW!!

While I've been cooking he's been re-doing his cost benefit analysis, he asked what I thought of the first one and I told the truth that I felt he'd avoided saying anything that was hard in the 'costs' section. All I said is that he should write what it really cost him.

He asked me to look at it again - he's written the truth, sober - the things he's only ever told me after a drink! Even feelings, what it feels like to wake up and know, and what it's taken from him - his degree, YEARS!! That he's woken up under bridges once to often, the stuff he couldn't say sober.

He's done it! THIS is so hard, it's what he's ran from and hidden from.

Me head's still in a pickle!! Thankfully I've got roast spuds to take my mind off it! I'm so glad I'm cooking him a good meal.

Oh and just to add APAS has a free creative writing session on Saturday mornings and he's just said he wants to go (he knew I did), he said it might help him with all this other stuff he's got to write!!

He's the world's best teacher for not assuming what a person will do next!!

Oh, I am so glad to hear this.

As you know (given the amount of "tough love" I have given you), I truly believe that we only heal when we hurt enough. I reckon D's had enough hurting in the past month or so to start healing. And it's a virtuous circle - the more he opens up and is accepted, the more he is likely to open up to others and be able to get the help he really needs.

Good going both of you.

He's certainly had enough hurt in the last month!! I might be being really mushy and way off beam but soemhow it feels connected to the very strong sense of peace between the two of us earlier. I don't mean of my making or of his just something that was tangible and between us - that comes easy in easy times but I really felt it strongly today.
