Hello Again! Dropping in with an update.
Hello All! I was active on this board back in 2017 and got a lot of wonderful advice and inspiration from many who had gone before me on the path of divorcing an AA. Mine was also bipolar. I've recently started writing about everything that happened in order to process feelings I packed away somewhere, and I remembered how much strength I got from reading this forum. I wanted to tell all of you currently going through troubles with an alcoholic spouse, it really can get better. Even when you think you're going to be left destitute and broken, you can survive and thrive. Before my divorce from my AA, I was having suicidal ideations, along with a host of other issues like panic attacks. I was barely staying afloat. I made it through and you can too. I don't have as much money as I did before, but I'm so much happier and at peace. My son is in college in another state. I'm in a healthy relationship with a wonderful, stable man who my son likes. Yay for that! I also want to say thank you to anyone who's still around from my previous time here. You helped save my life. I plan to check in on a regular basis to see if I can give back a little. Love to you all tonight and thank you again.
Thanks for the update Westexy, I remember you and I'm so glad to hear things are going so well for you! Isn't it divine to live a peaceful life? Worth every single one of those extra pennies you no longer have. *hugs*
