Dad started drinking again
My dad (an alcoholic) stopped drinking after he did something extremely destructive while intoxicated. He was brought to a facility for a while and then swore to me he would never drink again, as I was 4-5 years old at the time this happened. My dad has recently started drinking again, and I don’t know what to do. He’s been drinking at least 2-3 bottles a day and he drank an entire bottle of wine in one sitting. I’m so scared that was happened all those years ago is going to happen to do. My dad is also in denial, and I can’t confront him about this problem without him getting extremely angry. My mom hates confrontation and used to drink excessively, plus she’s barely around. I don’t know what to do. Advice would be greatly appreciated.
I just realized it may have not sounded right asking how old you are. lol I just mean like if a teenager, Alateen may be a good suggestion. Or if an adult then Alanon etc. Suggested help would be more appropriate.
Lots of helpful people on this board so keep checking back for responses.

Hi KitK, sorry to hear what you are going through.
There isn't much you can do, except stay out of his way. Alcoholics will quit drinking when they are ready and not before.
Have you looked at attending Al Anon at all?

I’ve heard of it, but I’m not too sure what Al Anon is. If it’s something I have to attend in-person I wouldn’t have a way of getting there.
Welcome to SR, KitK. There are online Al-Anon meetings. I'll post a link where you can find them in your area.
Al-anon is for family and friends who are affected by alcoholism. You will find a lot of support there and here, too.
