I’m sorry for what brings you here - it must be very hard, dealing with the disappointment and anger arising from your husband drinking again. It sounds like you are putting yourself and your children first, which is the best thing you can do in these circumstances. Good for you!

He was a nasty drunk and I bet he will be again. It took (in this order) rehab, 2 DUI's, separation, loss of job, house arrest, jail, house arrest, hospitalization, 1 dv arrest (not physical, but still DV), losing joint custody of his older kids, and therapy to get him sober. Why TF would he drink again?
HA! The big question non-alcoholics ask. Thing is it's impossible to get inside the head of an addict. Denial and rationalization rule. "His majesty the child."
In an AA meeting I heard a shrink specializing in addiction talk about drinking after 26 years of sobriety: "I thought maybe I quit too young and wasn't an alcoholic". Alcoholism is a mental illness and any of us can drink again: it's not a disease of the elbow.
