LOL, I was feeling a bit "shamed" today. A colleague was asked to take a look at some proposed legislation on "revenge porn" (we discourage that term but it's what people commonly call it). He sent it to me and asked my thoughts. I kicked around a few things I didn't like about it--mainly the fact that I thought it would make relatively trivial acts by teenagers not acting maliciously a serious crime. Just some impressions off the top of my head.

Next thing I know I get an email from my boss with big red text next to each of my comments, criticizing them and saying she did NOT AGREE WITH THIS ANALYSIS. Of course, about four other people were cc'd on the email. I wrote back that this was casual kicking around, not a serious analysis of the bill, and just thoughts off the top of my head, and we weren't suggesting that should be our response. She replied that she thought so, but wanted to be sure.

Now, I felt really rather offended, like I'm being soft on creeps who do this sort of thing. I'm slightly offended that she took it that way, and slightly offended that she thought I would send off something that obviously casual, and slightly offended that she cc'd everyone on my comments when only one of the other people had seen the comments to begin with.

Oh, well, it could have been worse. I could have tweeted something.
