Get drunk without a hangover on synthetic booze - Telegraph

What in the world would this mean to us???? And the ones we love??? Wow! Seems like a can of worms, but interesting nonetheless!

That's old news if you are a Trekkie. Sounds very similar to synthehol

Palcohol is another thing though and as an alcoholic in recovery I find it very scary.
I could totally have seen myself snort it to get drunk without reeking of alcohol. I can just in my (sometimes still sick) mind think of a zillion ways to abuse something like that and the fact that it is so portable and discreet makes it even more attractive to an addict.

"A benzodiazepine derivative, the substance is in the Valium family, but without being addictive or causing withdrawal symptoms, he claims."

Yeah, cause everyone knows benzo's aren't addictive.

Kind of like how ultram (tramadol) was touted as being non-addictive. Yeahhhhh no. I've seen someone get hooked on that stuff and it wasn't pretty.

I can't imagine how any of this would be good for addicts. Scary!

Why would anyone think this is a GOOD thing? Synthetic versions of drugs of abuse are 9 times out of 10 far worse than the real thing. I can't tell you how many teenagers I have taken care of as a psych nurse that are howling at the moon psychotic from smoking spice. Crazy stuff.
