Does an alcoholic repeat themselves often???

My husband was terrible at this very thing. Now, we deal with the after affects of blunt force trauma to the head and not remembering anything even though he's sober. It's hard to wrap your head around sometimes.

Yes! And until my H's alcoholism came out, I thought I was going crazy because I couldn't figure out if I had the conversation in my head or for real.

Yes we do repeat ourselves because honestly we have no clue what we said. I distinctly remember several times while I was drinking (and not very successfully hiding it) having hubbie say "Cookies you already told me that." Must have driven him nuts. Now sober I see it a lot more with people that are drinking and find it a lot more intolerable. IMHO its pointless to have conversations with people that are drunk and avoid them like the plague.
