Dear firebolt, I'm just reading this. I feel that you did a pretty good job of dealing with this. You took care of you. You set a boundary when he drank, and didn't go into a situation that you knew would be bad for you. Of course he wasn't happy. The A doesn't want to take the blame, they want everyone to pretend everything is fine. I'm sure he had to come up with some lame excuse for your absence, so that meant he had to face the truth...even if he never admits it.

I'm sorry your Christmas was stressful. The road to a healthy new life isn't all roses.... but it's worth it.

Thanks all. I don't know what I'd do without this place and you all. Flo - sorry your Christmas was lonely - I also have a Christmas weekend with my family this coming weekend, so really looking forward to that too.

For scrabble, I think I'll play soberrecovery off the R in Ebeneezer
