I am laughing at this statement - you need to come to Alaska. Plenty of female mountain bikers - of all ages - to be found here! And we do ride in groups. Even down the sides of mountains.

In my neck of the woods (flyover country), all the serious cyclists are in their 30s and 40s.

Well I need to live there! Here I rarely see a woman on a mountain bike unless she is young and very unique or with her boyfriend who is teaching her.

I would love to have a group of mountain bike riders, because there is a lot that is better learned from someone more experienced than me. Like, first aid! LOL..
