Sigh. I guess my view of him as a co-parent reveals my inability to completely let go of this fantasy that I had---that underneath his alcoholism, he at least tries to be a good dad, which I guess I try to tell myself because he is my son's father after all
BUT if he was really invested in becoming a good dad, he would seek help or take parenting classes. He would do something, anything! But he isn't taking any action at all. Now he just keeps insisting that he does NOT have alcoholism, that he can control it, that I'm being ridiculous and unreasonable because I'm filing custody paperwork which would restrict him from drinking, in addition to taking random alcohol testing. He claims he is a "good man" and a "great dad." Ugh!
