Since she hasn't worked in 10 years, temporary support may get ordered. It may seem odd since she has been drinking, but the courts may just view her situation as that she was a "stay at home mom" and therefore needs to be retrained for work.

But, since she hasn't been showing up for court, maybe she'll get less sympathy?

In my state, alcoholism does come into play for "at fault divorce". My AH is being sued for "at fault divorce" and he's annoyed that his alcoholism (and pill addiction) will be in the court records since he's always wanted to keep that out of the public eye.

I am not sure what the judge will do if she does not show today. I just want this over with, it's been over a year now.

No show for stbexaw again, so we could not settle anything. It is up to the judge now for a fair settlement.
I hate what she has become, it is so sad. She is going to die at the rate she is going.

I am sorry, electricalguru. It is very sad, indeed. The no-show speaks volumes, too, about what she can and can't handle right now. I saw my friend spiral down in the same way, and she did quit going to legal hearings about custody of her son. Just quit showing up because she felt hopeless. She died last month. I often wonder if that was what she wanted anyway - to just die and be done with it all. That it seemed easier that way than fighting for sobriety and getting her life back.

How are your kids holding up through all this?

So sorry that these Court hearings proved to display your AW's further downslide. I would imagine that says a great deal to the judge about his decision. I am very sorry for your pain.

It did not help her at all, hopefully I gave her my last spousal support check last week.
