Another comment from 10 year old son
I wish there was an al-akid here. Anyway, we were at a local independant league baseball game last night, and ds said "ick mom i don't want to sit here, it stinks like beer". Every comment he makes feels like a punch in the gut, another reminder that i should have left sooner.

Ahhh... I'm so sorry! My son made a comment a month ago about my husband that made me shudder. We had invited a new family to our house and he said,"I wonder how they'll feel about dad drinking so much?". It hurts. At that moment I knew I was fooling myself to think our children don't take notice.

Aren't kids great they way the say it like it is.
My 10 yr old son tried ringing his Dad yesterday and when he got no answer said " i guess he's off drinking again "
They are clued in to whats going on, even if you think they aren't
