Alcoholic lover VS Non Addicted lover

Alcoholic lover
-Says things that contradict each other while drunk and sober.
-Doesnt have a filter when drunk, says whatever he wants. Even if it hurts us.
-Isnt very reliable.
-Lives his life around the addiction.
-Known to fall asleep during sex at times.
-Is unpredictable.
-Loses trust often.
-Loses respect often.

Non Addicted Lover
-Doesnt say things contradict each other (rarely)
-Has a better filter, and may not embarrass you as much.
-More reliable.
-Doesnt live life around an addiction. Free to be spontaneous.
-Ive never experienced a non alcoholic who fell asleep during sex...
-Is more predictable.
-Has the capacity to build and keep trust.
-Can earn your respect and continue to keep it.

This can help some people see why they wouldnt want to be with someone who is in recovery.

Please add some to the list!

Urgh my judgement is a bit wonky, still accepting that addiction and abuse are different birds!
Okay, I'll go-

Addicted lover-
Goes AWOL for days on end, truly believes you're in the wrong for questioning where he's been.

Non addicted lover-
Doesn't.

Alcoholism is essentially a perverse love affair with the bottle, and could be considered first class adultery. It necessarily creates a love triangle, but lady liquor isn't the mistress — you are.

I would call this way beyond alcholic - maybe psychotic.

By the way , your quote "There is a difference between giving up, and knowing when you have had enouph. " is precious. I'm adding it to my collection of quotes. Thanks.
