You sound like a terrific person who also deserves a terrific person. This guy isn't the one. Ok, sometimes he's fine but it's not healthy to put yourself around a toxic person and there is nothing you can say or do to change that. Change is possible but it is very hard work (AA and therapy) and takes a long time. And he misses his drinking buddies?
