My ABF white-knuckles it and won't drink around me, then sneaks alcohol when I'm not around. (I'm in therapy and reading all I can! My boundary: I will not talk to him/be around him when he drinks.)

The other night I politely excused myself from the conversation when I could sense he had been drinking.

Last night he forgot to hide his beers from the night before I came over. I saw them in the fridge (he knew I saw them too). I did not freak out and I did not engage in an argument. I just kept my cool. I'm finally accepting it's not my problem and I can't control it.

Controlling me, however, feels fantastic!!!!!!!
