In the instance of the facebook friend, I'd think more about how to NOT let this trigger so much in you.
There will be many instances down the road when you will be triggered by someone like this.
Try not to even take facebook that seriously. No one is the person they are projecting whether or not they make you comfortable. It is a persona.
