At a loss for what to do
welcome to the SR family!
You have found a wonderful source of support and information for yourself. Please pull out the keyboard and make yourself at home by reading and posting as much as needed.
There are some permanent (sticky) posts at the top of the forum. They contain some of our stories and loads of wisdom. This is from a sticky post:

Hi traj and wellcome.
Sorry to hear you're feeling this way, but glad you have found this place, as it has so much to offer to all of us who are struggling with our loved one's addictions.
I have learned the best way to deal with that situation is to learn as much as possible about the nature of the disease and things you can do for yourself and your kids to make your lives better.
I advise you to stick around, post and read.
read the stickies at the top of the forum, there is a great wisdom in them.
Also, when you feel more ready, maybe you can tell us more about your story, so we can try helping you.
You're among friends here, and we understand
Take care

Hi Traj-
Welcome!
How old are your kids?
Your wife will do what she will do, and if she is an alcohol abuser then that will include drinking! Can't control that.
But a plan for young children's safety is within your control--many on here have struggled and continue to struggle with these issues. Keep posting, you're not alone.
Peace-
B

welcome Traj, you have come to the right place. read and post and you will get responses from some very wise people here that have been in your shoes. I am pretty new and already feel right at home. I hope you do too! remember to take care of you and the kids, you can't do much about your wife, except get out of the path of the storm and remember it has nothing to do with you (easier said than done, i know).
