No luck locating a copy in town. I found one on ebay when I got home.

I won't make Ch 1 by Saturday, but I'll follow along.

I'm ready any time and looking forward to it! Been wanting to talk about it with others since I first picked it up, but they don't have support groups for that where I live!

My copy has been read, re-read, dogeared, underlined, and has a few tear stains here and there.

Thanks, Beth, for getting the DBC (Damn Book Club) rolling.

Hi, I"m going to see if the library has a copy, as I"m flat broke for awhile, but am guessing I should be here too...

Oh thank you, so glad you are bringing your dogeared underlined tear stained copy to the club. I could use a calming voice, and yes, my healing will come too.

I think I must give credit to Coyote for the idea and even the name of the Club.

This is really exciting.

Okay, I admit I've been a little resistant here--obviously this topic is something that I need to join in on. I'll order my copy tomorrow...and will jump in after I've caught up.

Thanks for the motivation on this, I know I need it!

Hello!

I've just been away too, and what great time I had of reflection, serenity, and family time.

I will read as much as I can - just opened my mail and it's in there - to join on Saturday. Can't wait.

Thanks for spearheading the start, Beth.

Going to buy a copy on my lunch break today! Is everyone pretty much on chapter 1?

Not starting till Saturday, but some have a few days to get their books.

You know, this is almost, but not quite like when I quit drinking.
I said to myself
"I don't have to live like this anymore."
And, a huge weight came off, I think I actually stood a little straighter.
I can do this. Yep.

How are we doing this? One chapter at a time? Everyone goes at their own pace? Shares insights, feelings, opinions?

I've actually never been in a book club, lol.

That's a good idea, one chapter per thread perhaps? That way, whenever a person has read that chapter, they can post to the corresponding thread.

I wonder if there could be a way for each chapter to be put in the stickies to make it easy to find whichever chapter you are on? Not sure if that is the best way to do it though?

But so far it seems like a lot of people have bought the damn book and want to join the damn book club.

oh, that sounds like a great idea.
a different thread for each chapter.
and the ones who need to catch up, or have another insight can go to that thread.
yeah, keep the conversation focused on one chapter at a time.

I wanted to post something last night about something I had read in the Preface but didn't want to mess anyone else up.

Hey gang, so that one person doesn't feel the burden of responsibility, should any one start the new thread with each new chapter? Maybe make sure we wait at least a week between new threads? What do ya think?

Hope there's still room for more members of the Damn Book club. I'm going to pick up a copy during lunch today. I'm excited to read this book. Tired of making the same old mistakes.

My copy will be here Tue or Wed next week, in time for my birthday. I think I am gonna start dedicating my b-day to working on recovery issues, just to show myself how much I am worth. I will try to keep up.
