This weekend is for me!

This weekend I am going on a "girls trip" to the casino with 5 of my very best girlfriends. I am sooo excited about this. I normally would decline these types of invites because I was too afraid to leave AH in fear of what he may do while I was gone. I have passed up many vacations, nights out etc. out of fear of that.

It feels good to be able to accept this invitation and have a clear mind about going. Even though things aren't really different per se, they are for me, because in my mind we are getting divorced which frees me from all of the unhealthy energy, attachment and control I normally put into the relationship. I am going away with an "I don't care attitude"..I will take my time, enjoy myself and not rush home on Sunday feeling guilty and worried.

I could get used to this!

Good for you! I'm heading out to a big campfire gathering on Saturday for AA/Alanon, and am looking forward to good food, good company, and just plain old fun!

I always loved to play the BIG slots as the very last thing I do. You know the $25 and up slots that are usually roped off in velvet. :-) I would just play it ONCE.

Ya never know! I got $450 at one time, which basically meant that my whole trip was FREE.

Oh, I am not a very big gambler...To be honest the whole idea of "giving my money away" gives me anxiety. I am just setting some "fun money" aside with the mind set that I am gonna lose it anyway...I am not very lucky when it comes to the slots!
My aunt ALWAYS wins on the Wheel of Fortune slot game, she has won cars, all kinds of things....maybe I should see if she is available?

Next on the list is tackling my back yard, I have some ideas of some things I want to add to the patio, get some new furniture, just make a really cool serene place for me to sit this summer while the kids play and I can read a magazine, a book, have a glass of wine, listen to music, lay in the sun...relax!

We have an engagement and housewarming party at my grand daughter's on Saturday evening. Won't be staying too late as it is Anzac Day on Sunday, and the dawn service starts at 5am, so need to be up early.
I have a wreath to lay for mum and I, in memory of her uncle who got thru all the Somme battles, and was killed on 18th August 1918. He was butied, but after the last lot of fighting his grave has never been found.

Then at 9am I have my usual Mass, where I pray for all here at SR, and especially those in particular need right now.

Hope you who are going out or away, all have great times and enjoy every minute.

God bless

Anzac Day now promotes a sense of unity, perhaps more effectively than any other day on the National calendar. People whose politics, beliefs and aspirations are widely different can nevertheless share a genuine sorrow at the loss of so many lives in war.
Jadmack,
I just went over to wikipedia for this quote after reading about ANZAC Day.
I have heard of ANZAC Day, but not the details.
On that day, I will remember those soldiers, and your great uncle who served during WW1, and whose grave has never been found.
A salute from me to you and yours on that day.
Beth

Froglegs,
Have a wonderful time, and I am sorry for the derail.
