Kudos to..............ME
I've come a long way these past four months since I left my AH of 24 years and I love all the positive changes that have taken place - even though they were very painful.
I received a Christmas Card today from my girlfriend of almost 40 years. Two months ago AH manipulated her into rescuing and helping him- making me the bad guy. She said some very hurtful things to me. Basically took his side. To say that I was hurt by this is a major understatement. I have had no contact with her. In the card she said that she had some things leftover from my move and that she would like to bring them over to my new house.
In the past I would have done the drama queen response to her and brought up all the things she said and how much it hurt me that she had taken sides, etc etc etc.
I didn't!
I thanked her for the card and note and asked her to provide me with a few dates/times that it would be convenient to have those items picked up by someone.
That's it.
