Codependent Glossary

Know any funny words that sound like they were coined for codies? Here's my contribution for today.

Mumpsimus

* 1. One who adheres to an old habit in spite of clear evidence that it is wrong.
* 2. An old custom obstinately kept although it is known to be in error.

Let's put this one in, too.

2. to glue together; to unite by some glutinous or tenacious substance; to cause to adhere or to grow together.
3. to unite by the intervention of some glutinous substance; to coalesce.

MacGuffin

MacGuffin • \muh-GUH-fin\ • noun
: an object, event, or character in a film or story that serves to set and keep the plot in motion despite usually lacking intrinsic importance

Used in a sentence:
We codies are the MacGuffins that allow our addicts to continue their melodramatic performances.

As I am fond of saying, "no audience, no show".

Peace,
Gabe
