I took the plunge
I made an offer on the new property and signed a listing agreement to sell my current home today. I'm both happy and sad at the same time. Happy to be moving into a beautiful new home and sad to leave my home of the last 5 years. I have loved every minute of living in it. It's a true reflection of my personality and where I am in life. And it seems to have changed right along with me.
A few years ago it was decorated in a flashy, high-intensity style. But lately it's taking on a more serene and peaceful feeling. I look around my house; it's quiet, orderly, peaceful, and charming. I feel like I'm leaving an old friend and starting out on a new journey.
I can't wait to see where this move takes me and how my life evolves. My home, like my life, is a reflection of the choices I make.
Who knew it would be this easy? If I hadn't let go of the things that weren't working for me, I'd still be stuck in a miserable life today. But I made some difficult choices and I've reaped the benefits.
I hope everyone will join me on the other side of the bridge. Until then, I'll be the short one with the pudgy legs and the curly hair cheering you on.

That is truly wonderful!! I can just about feel the "new beginning" in your new home. I think it will be so wonderful for you in so many ways! You seem to keep re-inventing yourself - it seems only fitting that your surroundings should too!! I am certainly cheering you on and learning from you. Please post pics of the house, or tell us about it. I bet it is gorgeous!
Congrats, FD! Your new home will evolve to be just as perfect a reflection of your life as your current one did......after all, it's YOU who made it happen that way.
When I think of how terrified I was of letting go of the life that was hurting me, and how long I stayed despite being so unhappy, I am amazed. I look back now and think, jeez, what was I so worried about?????? I just had to have a little faith, that's all.
Way to go!

You know it, baby. It's got a much bigger front porch and there's no homeowner's association, so a pink flamenco is do-able. However, the only factory in the U.S. that manufactured pink flamencos stopped producing them a few years back. But there's always antique shops.
No pink birdies in the front yard - no problem! Ever considered a few brightly-painted wood-carved parrots to hang from the front porch? I can get a real deal on that sort of stuff in Algodones, Mexico - just a quick 20 minute drive from my house!
Pink flamingos? How about these:

Don't under estimate the power of ebay. You will need some yard gnomes too
